Department Partnership

Once again Art in the Park partnered with the WPS Visual Arts Department to engage students in grades K-12 in the process - proposal, design, making and installation of exhibiting site-specific work in Elm Park for Art in the Park 2017. The collaboration was designed to provide professional development for the WPS teachers and 3D AP Students at North High School, artist/mentors to classroom teachers and students, and support student efforts to create a site-specific sculptural work for display along with the works of professional artist selected by jurors.

Art in the Park initiated the project, identified and brought in artists that work in various mediums to discuss their creative process and involvement in Art in the Park. Students and Teachers presented proposals to Art in the Park and helped to install their work in the park. Supported by Greater Worcester Community Foundation & Worcester Educational Development Foundation.
